Kind Words

Kate is an excellent facilitator and systems thinker who works her magic in subtle, yet powerful ways.  She provided valuable insight and a collaborative spirit to our project team that allowed us to find a common voice. Her guidance enabled our team to develop an actionable, strategic and sustainable plan.
She is a pleasure to work with and an adaptable team member.

“Kate is great to work with; she is flexible and responsive. She understands both the big picture and how to get things done down to the details. She has a unique ability to identify the root cause of issues and identify helpful strategies to overcome those obstacles. Brooke Stanley Tou, MPH, LMSW

Kate helped me to see the various facets of both my personal and professional life. Her coaching assisted me in unlocking my own potential, I didn’t even know I had. Kate also helped me in making sense of my own personal belief system, ultimately attaining my objectives and goals.

“When I began working with Kate, I was starting from the ground up to develop a new program I knew very little about.
I appreciated Kate’s ability to sit in uncomfortable places with me as I reflected on what actions I needed to take for my own as well as my organization’s best interests.

For over twenty years I have worked with Doug Cohen. During that time he has been a great resource, coach and advisor in my role as the Chief Executive Officer of Aspiranet. Aspiranet provides an array of social services across California at forty-five locations. On an annual basis we serve over 35,000 children, youth and families. Our $78 million budget employs over 1,000 staff with over 200 volunteers. The scope of services are wide-ranging from educational and preventative to direct services for foster children, families in crisis, young adults that have aged out of foster care, adoptions, and behavioral health interventions from low to high levels of acuity.

Doug has always been reliable “sounding board” for discussions on the organizational development needs of our agency. Because Aspiranet has a distributed model of service it is essential that we have a consistent organizational matrix strongly rooted in our vision, mission, and core values. Doug was there at the beginning of Aspiranet’s efforts to “redefine” our organizational development model. He consulted with Aspiranet as we adopted vision-driven leadership principles. Our success since is in large part due to his consultation and guidance. His facilitation skills are some of the best that I have seen in my career. In closing, it is rare that you can find a trusted “thinking partner”. Doug has become such a partner for me.
